Yeah, I was wrong about a thing.

Trans sports: Ride or die.

So Wonkette (of whom I am a big fan and have given them money and if you’re not and haven’t maybe give them a quick try?) does a morning link roundup of important stories. They have a blurb about each one to get you interested in the link. This morning they linked to the WAPT-16 story, “Are there any transgender athletes in public schools or universities in Mississippi?”

Their blurb summed up the detailed demographic findings:

"a big thing in Mississippi right now is the threat of trans women competing in Sport. How many trans athletes are competing in Mississippi? That is a honking none."

And to think, I used to go easy on people who were pro-discrimination in sport.

"As trans issues go, it's not as important as many," I would think.

"And given it's all relatively minor, it will get sorted out without too much effort. The fuckfaces aren't sitting on sports' governing bodies, mostly," I would think.

"After all, don't you have to have some basic feminism to be pro women's sports anyway? Or if it's not required, it's at least super common. Let them come for all the bulldaggers in softball and announce a surprise gender-confirmation finger-up-the-cooter test and see how that goes over," I would think.

"And besides, the science is there, and it's on our side," I would think. "Surely the sports governing bodies will make a decision based on the science and then the hateful fuckfaces will just have to find another issue, like when all the anti-marriage stuff calmed down by 90% after SCOTUS just got off their asses and made the decision."

Well, that's not really how it's working out, is it? I admit I was wrong: cissexist scum are pretty determined. And by now I'm getting pretty pissed on behalf of the kids.

Fuck cissexist fuckfaces. Let's all teach kids that sports are for fun, and fun is not for tuition reduction. That's what state legislatures are for. So let's vote out the fuckfaces and vote in people willing to stop hurting the kids and start funding the schools.

In a year this could all be behind us.
