Even in a minority-majority city like San Antonio where much is centered on the experience of those of Mexican, Central and South American heritage, there’s still too much focus on why ppl, especially cis hetero why xtians. There’s so much unlearning to do and a lot of it is uncomfortable if not downright painful. But it is necessary to become a better human.
Thank you. And it's especially true (not to mention easy) to listen to those voices for me in a city as extremely diverse as NYC. I've even studied foreign languages (such as Spanish and Japanese) and I could speak with people who don't know any or know little English.
I'm sure a city such as Toronto or Vancouver is similar in Canada…
